Massimiliano Patrignani and Monica Zaffini, Co-founders of ma:design, graduated in Graphic Design from ISIA Urbino. They worked at Studio Dolcini Associati with Massimo Dolcini. In 2005, they founded ma:design, focusing on exhibit design, editorial projects, and brand experience.
Since 2019, they have been teaching the Masterās in Exhibit Design at IED Roma.
In 2011, they won the Honor Award – SEGD Design Award for the Placemaking and Identity project of MAXXI National Museum of 21st Century Arts, Montreal, Canada.
They received an Honorable Mention in 2011 for the project: eFFeMMe23BibliotecaLaFornace at the Compasso dāOro ADI XXII edition.
