Inclusive spaces, thoughtful design: MeM’s social mission
At MeM, we believe that spaces can generate well-being, relationships and empowerment. We don’t see them as mere containers, but as tools for transformation, able to influence the way people feel, relate, learn and grow. For this reason, our social work is not a deviation, but a fundamental part of our identity.
A transdisciplinary vision for environmental well-being
MeM was founded as a hub for research, training and consulting for the design of regenerative environments. Our approach integrates environmental psychology, biocentric design, neuroscience, architecture, pedagogy and visual communication.
We collaborate with public authorities, schools, cooperatives, designers, and European institutions to provide concrete methods and tools to those who work daily in educational and fragile contexts.
Our goal? To project environments that speak to people, especially the most vulnerable. Environments that teach without words, that welcome without barriers, that nurture identity, freedom and respect.
MeM in the Erasmus+ WellHOME project

Since 2024, MeM has been a partner in the European WellHOME project, funded by Erasmus+, which aims to develop an innovative training programme in Emotional Interior Design for people with disabilities or special educational needs.
Our role? To transform complex concepts – such as environmental psychology, Biophilic Design, and sensory accessibility – into simple, visual, and flexible training tools for educators, social workers, and end-users.
We have helped to create:
- printable and digital materials
- guided user paths
- space observation sheets
. user journeys in two versions (facilitators and participants)
- user journeys in two different patterns (facilitators and participants)
- accessible layouts and inclusive methodologies.
All our work is based on scientific evidence but designed for real life. To help those who work alongside vulnerable people every day to understand spaces better, recognise critical issues and activate possible transformations.

The G. Binotti project: school as a live organism

In 2022, MeM carried out an environmental consultancy for the primary school of the G. Binotti Comprehensive Institute in Serra Sant’Abbondio (PU), to improve the livability and educational quality of school spaces.
We are actively involved:
- boys and girls, with the questionnaire ‘A class of well-being’
- teachers and administrative staff, with interviews and field observations
- a multidisciplinary team of planners, educators and designers
This gave rise to a comprehensive project that reimagined:
- the library as a soft and sensory space
- the STEAM classroom as an experiential and inclusive laboratory
- the portico as an educational agora
- the outdoor areas as spaces for play, horticulture, biodiversity and learning
The environments were designed with natural materials, optimised lighting, purifying plants, flexible furnishings and works of art inspired by the local area.
All with a clear direction: to make every child feel like the protagonist of their own learning space.

Design that is also social commitment
These two projects – Erasmus+ WellHOME and the G. Binotti school – represent two sides of the same approach: design as a tool for equity, relationships and regeneration.
For MeM, working in the social sphere means bringing beauty, listening and awareness to places where care is most needed.
It means building tools that can be used by everyone.
It means designing environments that truly respond to people’s needs, and not just to regulations.
Our future lies in building environments that reflect who we are.
Whether it’s a school in the mountains, a social cooperative or a centre for independent living, MeM works to bring a new idea of space to life: a space that educates, protects and empowers.
An environment that quietly transforms the way we live together.
Would you like to transform an educational or social space?
Whether you manage a school, a reception centre, a cooperative or a cultural project, we can work together to create environments that speak to people and promote real well-being.
