Erasmus Plus: An Opportunity for Quality Living
Erasmus Plus: an asset for the good living.
European Funding and innovation: the key role of erasmus plus
European funding represents an extraordinary opportunity to promote growth, innovation and social inclusion within the European Union.
Through focused programs, the EU provides resources for supporting projects to improve infrastructure, education, employment and scientific research in its member countries.
The most established and well-known is Erasmus Plus, a program that offers students, professionals and institutions the opportunity to participate in cultural exchanges, training activities and international collaborations. Originally created to foster mobility and European integration, it has now evolved to include a wide range of activities that go well beyond the simple experience of studying or working abroad.
An important Erasmus Plus activity relates to strategic partnerships (Key Action 2), focused on the exchange of good practices among participating countries. This tool aims to support the educational, professional and personal development of individuals and organizations in the fields of education, training, youth and sport, contributing to the construction of a European educational space through strategic cooperation and targeted training.
WellHOME: The Erasmus Plus Project for Housing Well-being
In this scenario, MeM recently launched an innovative project together with an international partnership:
“WellHOME: Special VET Program on Wellbeing Interior Design to enable people facing social exclusion to create healing home environments for social housing residents.”
This ground-breaking effort combines education and good living, with a focus on social inclusion and space renovation through Biophilic Design and Environmental Psychology.
The project represents a great opportunity for MeM and its partners, allowing them to:
1. Share knowledge and expertise in the field of design for wellness.
2. Develop new training methodologies accessible to a wider audience.
3. Improve the living environments of people with vulnerable conditions.
MeM was involved in this project because of its strong online presence and expertise in training and rehabilitation of living spaces, taking a multidisciplinary approach that integrates design, sustainability, and inclusion.
Project Partners and European Cooperation
The WellHOME project involves partners from different European countries, who met during the Kick off Meeting held in Valladolid last January, each with specific expertise in the field of training, social and sustainable design:
🌍 Fundacion Intras (Spain) – Project Lead Partner
🌍 The Social Integration State Agency (Latvia)
🌍 Idryma Prostasias Aprosarmoston Paidon I Theotokos (Greece)
🌍 Fonix As (Norway)
This combined expertise will provide the development of an innovative and replicable project, paving the way for new training opportunities in the field of housing wellness.
An accessible and inclusive training program
One of the most innovative aspects of WellHOME is the creation of a specific training program, developed by MeM in collaboration with the partners of the project.
📌 The main goal is to make the skills needed to upgrade common and private spaces accessible to everyone, including unskilled and fragile people, according to the criteria of good living.

Conclusions
MeM’s participation in the Erasmus Plus WellHOME project represents a significant step in the dissemination and training in the field of housing well-being.
Thanks to this project, it will be possible to diffuse Biophilic Design and Environmental Psychology to a wider audience, fostering social inclusion and improved quality of life.
WellHOME is not only an educational project, but a real cultural revolution in the way living spaces are conceived. With top European partners, this program has the potential to become a replicable model in many other settings, expanding access to training and improving the living environments in which we move daily.
